Privacy Policy
Thumbx (“we”, “the App”) helps you design video covers on your iPhone. This policy explains what information the App uses and how it is handled. We designed Thumbx to keep cover work on your device whenever possible.
1. Who this covers
This policy applies to the Thumbx mobile application distributed through the Apple App Store. It does not cover third-party websites or services you may open from within the App (for example Apple Media Services for In-App Purchases).
2. Information we process
Depending on how you use Thumbx, the App may process:
- Cover drafts and media you create or import — photos, stickers (including images with transparency), voice note audio files, titles, masks, layout settings, and export status. These are stored in the App’s sandbox on your device.
- Optional profile details — nickname and avatar you set in Me, stored locally.
- Preferences — such as composition grid visibility, export size preference, and whether local cover reminders are enabled.
- Purchase state — Thumbx Coins balance and consumable In-App Purchase transactions processed by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details.
- Device permissions you grant — Photos (import / save), Camera (capture stills), Microphone (optional voice notes), and Notifications (optional unfinished-draft reminders).
3. How we use information
- To render, edit, preview, and export covers you create.
- To save drafts, stickers, and voice notes for your later use.
- To schedule optional local reminders about unfinished drafts.
- To provide HD / Spec Sheet exports in exchange for Thumbx Coins.
- To restore or update coin balances after successful App Store purchases.
4. Local storage & no account
Cover drafts, titles, stickers, voice notes, and profile fields are stored locally on your device. Thumbx does not require you to create an account to use core cover features. Deleting the App, or using Clear All Data in Me, removes local App data from the device (coins may reset according to in-app behavior).
5. Local notifications
If you enable Cover Reminders, Thumbx schedules local notifications on your device for unfinished drafts. Typical timing is about 10:00 AM the next morning after you edit a draft, and never sooner than about six hours after your last edit. Reminders are cancelled when a cover is exported or when you turn reminders off. Notification content is generated and stored by iOS on your device; we do not operate a push-notification server for these reminders.
6. Camera, Photos, Microphone
- Photos / Camera — used only to import or capture stills (and stickers) for covers, and to save exported images when you choose.
- Microphone — used only if you record an optional voice note attached to a draft. Audio is stored locally; it is not transcribed into cloud text by Thumbx.
7. Analytics, advertising & tracking
Thumbx does not include third-party advertising SDKs for showing ads in the cover editor. We do not sell your personal information. If this changes in a future version, we will update this policy and, where required, request Apple App Tracking Transparency permission.
8. Children’s privacy
Thumbx is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). Do not use the App to submit children’s personal data.
9. International users
Because cover content is stored on your device, it remains under your device’s control and any backups you configure (for example iCloud device backups managed by Apple). In-App Purchases are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
10. Your choices
- Revoke Camera, Photos, Microphone, or Notifications access in iOS Settings.
- Turn off Cover Reminders in Me → Cover Reminders.
- Delete individual drafts or use Clear All Data to wipe local App content.
- Manage purchases in your Apple ID settings (Thumbx Coins are consumable credits).
11. Contact
Questions about this policy: support@thumbx.app (replace with your real support email before App Store submission).
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy when features change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we publish revisions. Continued use of the App after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
